KCC: Building a Communication Instrument That Became a Business Development Asset

In 2021, KCC needed a communication instrument to showcase its expertise in landfill solutions. Here is how Business Motion turned a major project into a business development asset.

In 2021, KCC needed a communication instrument built around a clear business objective: to showcase its expertise in landfill solutions to potential clients and decision-makers.

They already had the experience, the technical expertise, and a portfolio of major projects. Our role was to turn that experience into a powerful communication asset, using the Burj Hammoud Landfill project in Lebanon as a concrete demonstration of what the company delivers.

The Objective

KCC had decades of experience in landfill solutions and a major project that demonstrated that expertise. The objective was to turn that experience into a communication instrument that could clearly present KCC's expertise, track record, and approach to potential clients, and become a practical tool in their business development efforts.

The Roadmap

We first needed to understand the objective behind the instrument. What did the company need to communicate? Who would be watching? And what would make the communication useful in a business development context?

Once that was clear, we looked at the challenge of communicating a highly technical project in just two minutes. We brought in construction specialists to help us understand the subject.

Then we looked at what was already available: years of footage, photographs, and project documentation. We selected what served the story and identified what was missing. There was no footage of the team working on site, so we filmed those elements and integrated them with the existing archive.

The roadmap was simple: understand the objective, understand the subject, work with what exists, and produce what is missing.

The Execution

The final instrument was designed to introduce the company and then demonstrate its expertise through the landfill project. Because the company did not have many recently produced communication instruments, we could not assume the audience already knew it. We therefore opened with a short corporate introduction presenting the company, its identity, and the breadth of its services before moving into the landfill project.

The visual treatment followed the company's corporate identity, while graphics and motion elements were used to strengthen the design, simplify information, and give the instrument a more contemporary feel.

From there, we moved into the Burj Hammoud Landfill project, combining archived material with newly filmed footage to demonstrate the scale, expertise, and work behind it. The result was more than a project documentary. It became a corporate communication and business development instrument.

The Usage

A major project can take months, involve large teams, and generate an enormous amount of work. But once that work is documented properly, it can become a communication asset that works long after the project is over.

The instrument can be shared with a potential client through a link, included on the website, used in an executive meeting, or distributed through any communication channel. The work does not need to be explained from scratch every time. The instrument carries the story, the evidence, and the experience with it. It also means the company can communicate its expertise anywhere in the world without having to be physically present.

At Business Motion, we start with the business objective, build the communication roadmap, and then create the instrument that helps achieve it.

The result is not simply content. It is an asset the business can keep using, one that continues to demonstrate what the company can do. If you have a project that deserves to be communicated with the same precision, reach out.
